Surprise and Suspicion
The passion in Lauren and Paul Stilwell’s marriage started dying the day they both learnt that she was infertile. They are both absorbed in their careers. Lauren thinks it is in order to forget their misfortune.
One day Laurean decides to surprise Paul by visiting him at his work place during lunch. To her surprise she finds him headed out in the company of a twenty something blonde woman. She follows the pair into the Regis Hotel.

To level the score, Lauren sleeps with gorgeous Scott, the guy from work she has been flirting with for a while. Soon after the one night stand Lauren witnesses what no wife or lover should see – a gruesome crime perpetrated by her husband who beats Scott and bundles him into the car.
Lauren is in a dilemma. Should she tell the police what she saw or should she keep her mouth shut?

Outwardly Lauren holds things together. Her marriage for some reason seems to be back on track and the sex is as hot as ever. But at work Scott's murder is spinning her life out of control.
Evidence turns up that either puts Paul at the murder scene or shows that Lauren knew the victim personally rather than just as a casual acquaintance and work mate.
However, through a series of lucky happenstances, Lauren is able to deflect attention from herself and the suspect and the murder is pinned on someone else.
But how long will her lucky hold?
It lasts just long enough for Lauren to get further entangled in cover up, betrayal and blackmail. In the meantime the tally of dead bodies rises and more careers are jeopardized.
